About Us

My name is Brecht Colemont, a 25-year-old engineer living in Brussels with a passion for running. What started as short park runs after work soon became daily 10Ks, followed by marathons and ultramarathons. Over the years, I’ve tried countless running shoes but never found the perfect fit. The inability to thoroughly test shoes before buying often lead me to poor choices and unnecessary expenses.

This inspired me to create Run-It, a platform that allows runners to test shoes before committing, ensuring the perfect fit for better performance, comfort, and injury prevention.

At Run-It, we believe that choosing the right running shoe shouldn’t be a guessing game. Every runner moves differently, and what works for one person might not work for another. Yet, traditional shopping methods, whether online or in-store, rarely allow for proper testing. A few steps in a store or relying on online reviews can’t truly reveal how a shoe will perform over miles of training. Too often, runners end up with shoes that cause discomfort, impact performance, or even lead to injury.

Run-It is a platform that lets runners test shoes in real-world conditions before making a purchase. By offering a diverse selection for trial, we give runners the freedom to experience the fit, feel, and performance of a shoe before committing.

Sustainability

At Run-It, we are also tackling the waste problem in the footwear industry. Traditional buying habits often lead to unnecessary returns, with many discarded shoes ending up in landfills or incinerators. Big brands frequently destroy returned stock instead of reselling or recycling it, contributing to environmental damage.

By allowing runners to test before they buy, we help eliminate the buy-wear-return-discard cycle, ensuring that every purchase is the right one from the start. This means fewer wasted shoes, a longer lifespan for footwear, and a reduced environmental footprint—ultimately fostering a more sustainable and responsible running culture.
